Dangantaka tsakanin Masarautar Kano da Hadejia dadaddiyar dangantaka ce wadda ta fara tun zamanin Sarkin Kano Ibrahim Dabo da Sarkin Hadejia Muhammadu Sambo, zaka yarda da abinda na fada idan ka karanta Littafin Hugh Clapperton wato (Journal of Second Expedition) inda yake cewa...

Tarihin Birnin Kano ya nuna cewa Sarkin Kano Usman Dan Dabo shi ya fara baiwa Sarkin Hadejia Buhari mafaka bayan cire shi daga sarauta kafin ya koma Takoko (Shafowa) da zama, sannan wannan Dangantaka ta ci gaba da wanzuwa har zamanin Basasar Kano ta 1894, lokacin da Galadiman Kano Yusufa ya nemi taimakon Sarkin Hadejia Muhammadu da Sarkin Gumel Habu, da Sarkin Jafun Modibbo da su taimake shi ya shiga gidan Dabo. Wannan Dalili ya dan raunata waccan Dangantaka wadda har ta kai ga Zaman Dako a iyakokin Hadejia da Kano, amma daga baya dangantakar ta gyaru zamanin Sarkin Kano Alu.


Zamanin Sarkin Kano Muhammadu Sunusi 1954-1963, ya kawowa Sarkin Hadejia Haruna Ziyara sau da dama wadda har ake kiran Masaukin sa da suna "Gidan Sarkin Kano" yana nan a cikin fadar Hadejia daga Arewa. Haka kuma Sarkin Kano Ado Bayero ya kawowa Sarki Haruna ziyara ba sau daya ba, sannan zamanin Sarkin Hadejia Abubakar Maje ya kawo irin wannan ziyara sau da yawa har zuwa wajejen 1996/97, inda ya zo bayan Sallar Isha'i kuma ya kwana. In ka dauke zuwa bikin Bada Sanda ko zuwa Sutura Sarkin Kano Ado yayi zuwa na musamman sau uku da wayon mu.

Sarkin Kano Muhammadu Sanusi na biyu ya kawo irin wannan ziyara Hadejia a shekarar 2015/2016, akan hanyar sa ta zuwa Machina sai dai lokacin Sarkin Hadejia yana Kasar Waje.

Ziyarar Sarkin Kano Aminu Ado Bayero ta zo dai dai da lokacin da Sarkin Hadejia Adamu ya cika shekara goma sha takwas (18) a gadon Sarauta 2002-2020, wannan ziyara itace ziyara ta farko da Sarkin Kano Aminu Ado Bayero yayi zuwa Hadejia. Muna Addu'ah da fatan Alkairi Allah ya bada ladan ziyara.

The Jarma Title In Hadejia Emirate Dated As Far Back As 1850.

Historically, The Title Of Jarma Only Belong To The First Among The Warlords Of  The Kanem Borno Empire Whose Main Duties Include Safe-Guarding The Territorial Integrity Of The Kingdom And Leading The Territorial Army At The Battlefield.

Jarma Is Derived From The Hausa Word Meaning "Jarumta".
 The Origin Of The Word “Jarma”  Literally Mean “Bravery”  Therefore, It Is A Traditional Title Given To A Brave Persons Who Could Fight Against Internal And External Aggressions In The Emirate.
The Year 1850 Marks The Advent Of The Traditional Title Of  Jarma In The Entire Hausa/Fulani Kingdom. Historians Recorded That Prior To This Period, The Title of  Jarma Is Alien To The Hausa/Fulani Emirates. The Title Of Jarma Was Said To Have Derived It Origin From The Kanem Borno Empire, Which Dated As Far Back As 7th Century.
 According To Oral Narrations, The Famous Jarma Mohammadu “Dan Kare Kare” Was Said To Be Of Kanuri Decent, He’s Grandparents Among Others Rhodes From the Kanem Borno Empire and Settled In Hadejia, some Yobe while others went as far as Bauchi emirate.
When Such Title Is Attached To a Person It Symbolizes Courage, Valor And Fearless Attributes that is of Worthy of Emulation. 
In every Society Courage Can Take Different Forms Whether Demonstrated In War Or Peace Time. This Has Reflected Itself In The Way And Manner The Title Of Jarma Is Being Conferred On Individuals. 
Prior to 1850’s, Similar Title To that Of JARMA In The Fulani Kingdoms Are Sarkin Dawaki, Sarkin Yaki, Madawaki, Makama And Barde, These Titles are Reserved For Brave Warriors.
The Yardstick For The Appointment Of Jarma By The Respective Emirs Of Hadejia Is Not Only Limited To Bravery In Warfare But such person must Distinguished himself as a Hero during war and peace time. Those Rare Qualities Of Selflessness, Bravery And Valor Are Clear Depictions Of  The  First  Jarma Title Holder In  Hadejia Emirate, Notably Known As Jarma Muhammadu “ Dan Kare Kare”,  
who was Conferred With The Title During The Reign Of The Greatest King and Ruler Of Hadejia,  Sarki Mohammadu Buhari. 

According to the Professor Of History, Bayero University Kano, Mal. Haruna Wakili;

In His Artlce  “An Attempt To Reject The Imposition Of Colonial Rule In Hadejia, 1906. 

The Professor Asserts That, Soon After The British Invasion Of Hadejia And It’s Environs, The Colonial Masters Mercilessly Captured The Warlords Of The Emirate,Which Include Jarman Hadejia And Sarkin Arewa. Since Then, They Abolished The Title Of Jarman Hadejia In The Entire Region.

The Traditional Title of Jarman Hadejia Has Been Vacant For almost Six Decades.
Until The Year 1973, When Late Alhaji SABO SAMBO Took a Giant Stride In Restoring The Lost Glory of his  Heroic Ancestral Traditional Title.


In Contemporary Times, Wars Between Communities, Kingdoms And Emirates Has Long Become a thing  of the Past.

It Becomes Imperative that For A Person To Be Turban With The Title Of Jarma, Such Person Must Be Very Generous, Powerful And Influential. This And Many Others Were The Attribute Of The Late Jarman Hadejia Alhaji SABO SAMBO. His Characteristics And Mannerisms Earned Him of his Ancestral  Title during The Reign Of The Late Emir Of Hadejia Alhaji Haruna Abdulkadir In 1973.

THE BIOGRAPHY OF LATE JARMAN HADEJIA, ALHAJI SABO SAMBO.


Jarma Sabo Sambo Was Born In 1932 In Hadejia, From The Family Of Late Sarkin Hanya Sambo And Hajiya Maryam Muhammad (Iya Hajja). His Father Was The Grand Son Of Late Jarman Hadejia Mohammadu (Warkaci). 
He was a Pre and post-independence Nigeria  Civil Servant. well experience in The Field Governance, Law, Business and public Administration. 

His Erudition And Profound Knowledge Of 
Politics and Governance Paved Him way to be appointed as a Principal Private Secretary to the First Speaker Of the Parliamentary House, Lagos, in 1951.


His overwhelming experience led him to the peak of Civil Service Career in 1966 (Senior Executive Officer, Federal Civil Service). 

He was nominated as a Minister by Late President Mohammadu Shagari in the Second Republic 1983, Before his Assumption of office President Buhari took over the government by coup de eta.

He was Turbaned as the third Jarman Hadejia  In 1973. A traditional title he inherited from his great grand father JARMA MUHAMMAD WARKACI (1906).

He Died On The 31st Day Of May, 1999 And Was Survived By 37 Children And Four Wives, Hajiya Sa’a From Damagaran, Niger Republic. Hajiya Hafsatu From Gwandu, Kebbi State, Hajiya Kulu From Hadejia And Hajiya Hauwa From Jama’are In Bauchi State. 
He Was Succeeded By His Younger Brothers; *Late Alhaji Usman Sambo (2000-2010).
 *Alhaji Abba Sambo (2010 to date )
Late Emir of Hadejia Alhaji Abubakar Maje Haruna Turbaned his first child As “Bauran Hadejia” in Gratification of His father’s selfless service and Dedication towards development of Hadejia emirate, kano State  and Nigeria as a whole.



CONTRIBUTIONS:

Late Jarman Hadejia, Alhaji Sabo Sambo Was Immensely Loved  By The People Of Hadejia.
* He Contributed a Lot Towards Providing Jobs For The Teaming Unemployed Youth in various Government agencies and parastatals.
* He Facilitated The Appointments Of Notable Personalities From Hadejia Emirate Both At Federal And State Levels.. 
* He also facilitated the Establishment of the famous Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority in 1976 and  coordinated various projects under the Hadejia Jama’are River basin
* While serving as Managing Director of kano state investment and property limited,
He constructed Kundila Housing Estate, which include Gwammaja, Zoo Road and Zaria Road in the old kano State 

* As a Board member of Dantata and sawoe construction company, He brought the company to Hadejia and facilitated the construction of several Tarred roads in Hadejia and its environs
* He worked hard towards restoring the long lost relationship between Hadejia Emirate and other Notables Emirates in Nigeria such as katagum Bida, Jama’are, Gombe, Maiduguri, the Emirates of Sokoto and Gwandu, just to mention few.
* His House In Kano  became the residence and  Meeting point of The People Of Hadejia.
* He Never Get Tired Of Giving his audience  to Anyone who came to see him. This And Many Other things won Him the Love And Admiration of his People.

Late Sabo Sambo was The Cynosure Of All Eyes During SALLAH And DURBA Festivities In Hadejia, Very Well Noted To Have Shunted The Courageous Praise: " Ko Yau Ko Gobe, Ko Yanzu Yaki  Ya Zo”. Meaning (Let There Be In The Emirate, ‘War’ Today Or Tomorrow Or Even At The Moment. I’m  Ready To Defend The Entire Kingdom.

Asalin mutanen Gumel Barebari ne kuma sun fito daga garin Ngazargamu, Muhammadu shine ya fito da ‘ya’yan sa guda biyu, Danjuma da Adamu Karo. Dalilin fitar sa shi Dan uwan Shehu ne, to shehu yana da wani Doki wadda yake so kwarai har yasa aka ware shi daga cikin Dawakai aka masa gida daban. Shi kuma Muhammadu yana da  Godiya sai ya tsanantawa mai kiwonsa yayi mata baye, ana nan sai  godiya ta haihu ta haifi Dan Doki har ya girma ya fara hamimiya sannan sai Shehu yaji hamimiyar dan Dokin wannan , sai shehu yace “Duk inda Dokin nan ya fito dan Doki na ne” sai yayi kiran mai kiwon sa yace masa “In baka fada min wadda yayi baye da doki na b azan halaka ka” sai yace masa “Muhammadu ne ya tsananta min”,  sai Shehu yace to shikenan.

 To da Muhammadu yaji wannan zance sai ya tsorata ya gudu shi da ‘ya’yan sa biyu yazo wani gari da ake kira Nagalu kasar Shadiko, yanzu tana cikin Jamhuriyar Nijer. Yana nan sai Shehu ya aika masa cewa ya koma gida ba komai, sai Muhammadu yace “NA ATIMA DIGAIYE” Wai Anan na fita. To saboda waccan kalma da ya fada shine har yanzu ake kiransa da Diga Diga kakan Mangawa. To daga Nagalu da Shehu ya aiko ya koma har yau sai ya bar nan ya tashi ya koma Babaye don yayi Noma, daga nan sai suka taru suka yi shawara a Dogoma ya kamata ayi Shugaba, sai Muhammadu yace a yiwa Adamu Karo bubban dan sa, shine ya fara sarauta a Dagoma suka zauna gari ya zama nasu suka shekara uku, daga nan Adamu Karo ya tashi zuwa yaki kasar Kano sai Fulani suka harbe shi da kibiya a wani gari da ake kira Kanebu sai ya rasu.
Sai aka dawo gida aka nada kaninsa Danjuma yayi shekara goma sha bakwai yana sarauta sai ya rasu, sai aka nada dan Adamu Karo Muhammadu Mai Kota, sai suka tafi wajen Shehun Barno don ya basu Tuta, sun karbi Tuta a hijira ta 1781. 

Shi Muhammadu Mai Kota shine ya fara karbar Tuta, dalilin da yasa ake ce masa Mai Kota shine bayan ya karbi Tuta a Barno sai ya koma Sokoto wajen Sarkin Musulmi don ya bashi Tuta, to Sarkin Musulmi yasan akwai Tutar Shehun Barno a hannun sa sai yace dashi;- “Sai ka koma wadda aka min izni in bayar ta kare” Sai yayi Addu’ah a jikin Kota ta Noma ya bashi yace kaje da wannan ba kai ba duk Sarkin da za’ayi in Damina tayi ya karta wannan Kota ko da sau biyu ne, in da duk Duniya za’a yi yunwa to kasar sa baza su yi ba. To saboda wannan Kotar sai ake kiransa Muhammadu na Kota, kuma wannan Kotar tana nan har yanzu a gidan Sarautar Gumel.

Muhammadu na Kota ya shekara Ashirin da bakwai (27) yana Sarauta ya rasu, sai aka nada Dan sa Muhammadu Kalgo yayi shekara Hudu (4) yana sarauta sai wani Barawo da ake kira  Barjo ya biyo dare ya kashe shi. Sai aka tafi Barno aka nadaMuhammadu Dan Auwa, ya shekara Goma sha bakwai yana Sarauta kuma Jarimi ne domin ya shahara wajen yaki. Ya sha kaiwa hari kasar kano yana cinye musu kauyuka, har ma mai wakar Bagauda yana cewa “Da Tumbi da Washa sun ga banza sun hada kai suna dibar kanawa, sannan sun tashi daga Dagoma sun dawo Tumbi”  A lokacin mulkin sa kasar Kano suka yi ta kawo chaffa wajen sa, tun daga Dutse Gadawur suke kaiwa haraji har Tumbi.

Lokacin da Shehu Laminu ya samu labarin cewa Muhammadu Dan Auwa yayi karfi duk sararin nan babu kamar sa, ko shi zuwa gaba zai fi karfin sa. Sai Shehu Laminu ya aiko Dan Auwa yaje yana neman sa, sai Dan Auwa yaki zuwa har saida Shehu Laminu yah au da kansa yazo wani gari da ake kira BARMARI, kasar Yalawa tsakanin su da Tumbi bai fi Mil Bakwai ba (7) inda Dan Auwa yake. Da Shehu yazo wannan gari sai ya aika Dan Auwa yazo, duk da haka sai yaki zuwa yace a fadawa Shehu yazo nan Tumbi ya same shi domin in yazo nan babu yadda zai yi dashi, amma in shine yaje to Uban dakin sa ne sai yadda Shehu yayi dashi. 

Sai Shehu ya hada Dabara da Malamai na cikin garin Tumbi yace “Ku sani zan je Tumbi amma duk abinda ya faru ku sani yaki tsakanin Musulmi da Musulmi babu kyau, ku fadawa Dan Auwa gaskiya yazo” sai wani Malami daga cikin Malaman Tumbi yaje gaban Dan Auwa ya rantse da Alqur’ani cewa  in ya kais hi gaban Shehu zai tashe shi ya dawo gida, sai Dan Auwa ya yarda suka tafi gaban Shehu Laminu. Da suka je gaban Shehu sai Malamin ya tashi Dan Auwa a tsaye yace masa “ Kamar yadda na maka rantsuwa zan tashe ka to na cika Alkawari, sai Malami ya tafi ya bar Dan Auwa da Shehu Laminu. Bayan sun kama Dan Auwa sun rasa yadda zasu yi su kashe shi, sai Dan Auwa da kan say ace a samo mazagin wando a shake shi dashi. Haka kuwa aka yi suka samo mazagi suka shake shi ya mutu, sai kuma Shehu yasa aka yanka Sa aka fede shi aka dauki fatar aka saka gawar Dan Auwa a ciki aka nade aka jefa a Kogi, tun daga wannan lokacin kogin ya daina kawowa Ruwa.

Bayan Muhammadu Dan Ta Noma ya shekara Tara (9) yana sarautar Tumbi sai yaso yayi gidan gona, sai ya fadawa Malaminsa sai Malamin yayi rubutu yace a baiwa Godiya tasha duk inda tayi fitsari to anan za’ayi. To anan Gumel kusa da fada Duhuwa ce da wata Saniya ta gawurta ta zama kamar Bauna take tsare mutane, ana kiran Saniyar da suna Gumale. Sai Dan Tanoma yasa aka je aka kashe Saniyar sannan aka tafi da wannan Godiyar, da tazo kusa da wurin wani zuwo sai tayi fitsari. Sai mutanen da suke biye da ita suka ce “LAU TAYI” ma’ana sunan Godiyar Lau, wannan shine dalilin da ake cewa Gumel Lautai. Da aka zo aka fadawa Sarki sai ya tambaya a ina da inda aka kashe Gumale tayi? Sai suka ce masa a gabas da wurin ne kadan, wannan shine dalilin da yasa ake kiran garin da suna Gumel. Zamu kawo muku kashi na biyu.

Ma'anar Dama itace "wani lokaci ko wasu jerin al’amura da kan yi dalilin faruwar wani abu."

Rayuwata gaba d'ayanta labari ne na damarmaki wanda ke sanya fata da karfafa zuciya. Wadannan damarmaki sun kasance da iznin Allah mad'aukaki tamkar wata fitila ce da ta haskaka mini tafarkin rayuwa na zama duk abunda na zama.

Dacewa da samun wad'annan damarmaki, da kuma amfani da su a lokutan da su ka bijiro, shine dalili da kuma matakin dagowata daga tsukun yankin mahaifata a Hadeja, Jihar Jigawa, arewa maso yammacin Najeriya, inda ya kaini zuwa madaukakan wurare kamar ofisoshi da d'akunan taron Majalisar ‘Dinkin Duniya da ke birnin New York na k'asar Amurka da kuma dukkan nahiyoyin da ke fadin wannan duniya.

Malam ne ya fara cusa min ak'idar sanin darajar ilmi da maida hankali a kan aiki, tare da nusar da ni kyawawan dabi’u na rayuwa irin su: gaskiya da rik'on amana, hak'uri da juriya, karfin hali, sanin darajar d'an adam, fin k'arfin zuciya, tausayi, da kuma uwa uba, ya dasa min ginshik'in tsoron Allah a zuciyata. 

Wannan Damar dai ita ce ta ingantaccen ilimin da na samu  k'yauta a makarantun gwamnati (tun daga makarantar firamare ta unguwa zuwa sakandaren yanki, jami'a da kuma k'ololuwar mataki na karatun aikin likita. Karatu, tarbiyya da kuma jajircewa su ne dai ta hanyar da Ubangiji ya d'aukaka Nura ya koma Dakta Nura a yau.

Dama ce bud'e ido da na yi da wuri akan harkokin siyasa na gane yadda ake gudanar da ita, a inda na fahimci tasiri ko k'arfi na tarayyar jama'a a karkashin wata manufa guda idan aka yi amfani da shi wajen yad'a ak'idar da za ta amafanar da daukacin al'umma, musamman bangaren talakawa.

Babbar Dama ita ce da Allah (SWT) ya had'ani da Dr Sule Lamido, wanda ya gano wad'ancan halaye nawa, da tarbiyya, da karatu, da kuma bibiyar siyasa, ya gamsu da su, sannan kuma ya ci alwashin sarrafa su. Shine dai sanadiyyar da ta kai ni can k'ololuwar  gwamnati ina matashi d'an shekara 34 kacal, inda a gefe daya na san maza kuma maza su ka san ni, amma kuma a wani gefen na gane cewa duniyar nan fa ba komai ba ce face wani yanayi na k'ank'anin lokaci.

Ba komai ba ne face Dama ta jawo min yabo da girmamawa daga shugabannin k'asashe, manyan jami'an difilomasiyya da siyasa, fitattun shugabannin al'umma,  hamshak'an ‘yan kasuwa da kuma y'an uwana likitocin da na samu dacewar yin gogayya da su, kuma Allah ya ba ni damar nuna musu kokari da jajircewata ta ganin na kai gaci a duk wani al’amari da na sa a gaba ko kuma duk wani aiki da aka sanya ni.

Babbar tambaya a nan ita ce, ta ya ya wani matashi marar gata a sama, wanda ya fito daga arewacin Nijeriya, yankin da miliyoyin ‘ya’yan talakawa irinsa su ke rasa makomar rayuwa tun suna ‘yan kasa da shekaru 10, ya zama Ministan Najeriya ma fi k'arancin shekaru tun bayan dawowar mulkin damokirad'iyya a kasar a 1999, k'wararre a aikin likitanci, gogagge a harkar diflomasiyya, kuma har ya taka rawa a harkokin siyasar al'ummarsa, a k'asar da samun irin wannan tagomashi sai ‘yan tsiraru, masu uwa a gindin murhu??!
..... Amsar dai mai SAUK'I ce!!...

Alhamdulillah... DAMA CE KAWAI!!!

Sanin da na yi cewa, ba dan wad'annan damarmaki da na samu a rayuwata ba, da kuwa ni ma zan iya shiga kowane irin hali, shine babban k'aimin da ya sanya na yi tunanin kafa wannan Gidauniya ta Unik Impact (www.unikimpact.foundation). Ita dai wannan Gidauniya tamkar wani dandamali ne na yi wa al'umma, musamman 'yan uwa matasa, kokarin samun dama a rayuwa ta hanyar bayar da tallafi ga harkokin ilminsu, tattalin arziki da kiwon lafiya, har ma da inganta muhallinsu. Sannan da yi musu jagoranci bisa sanin muhimmancin ilimi da kuma rungumar dabi’un kirki irin su: jajircewa a kan aiki, gaskiya da rik'on amana, fin k'arfin zuciya da kuma nuna tausayi ta hanyar yi wa al’umma hidima da taimakon na kasa.

Babban burin wanna Gidauniya shine tarairayar zukatan matasanmu da d'ora su a kan tafarkin samun d'aukaka da cin nasara a rayuwarsu. Idan har ni zan sami irin wannan d'aukaka, to a cikin ikon Allah kowa ma zai iya samun irin ta, ko sama da hakan  ma idan ya sami dama.

Hakika tarbiyya ce, da kuma karatun da duniya ta koya min, su ka ganar da ni cewa, d'aya daga cikin hanyoyin da mutum zai nuna godiya a bisa ni'imomin da Allah ya yi ma sa, shine, shi ma ya yi sanadiyyar samun dama ga wasu. Ta haka ne kawai zamu yi tunanin gyara al'ummar nan; ko da kuwa a sannu sannu ne.

Wani k'wararre da na yi aiki tare da shi, ya ta6a yi min tambaya cewa ya ya na ke hangen wannan Gidauniya ta Unik Impact a cikin zuciyata?... sai na amsa masa da cewa:

"Kamar gungu ne na wasu mutane da  Allah ya bai wa Dama a rayuwa  inda su ma su ke k'ok'arin ganin wasu da yawa sun sami irin wannan damar."

Hausawa dai su kan ce: ‘Yi wa wani, yi wa kai....’

KANO IN 1851.. PROGRESS OF THE AFRICAN MISSION.

Kano February 23,1851. Without stopping to give any personal news, which you will doubtless hear from another quarter, I proceed at once to acquaint you with the result of my researches at this place, which would indeed have been much more extensive, if my material circumstances, in conjunction with a little sickness, had not taken up a good deal of my time. 

The present Sultan of the Fulani empire, or the Emir el Muminun Ali ben Bello, is represented as a man whose whole endeavour is only to a mass riches an example which is strictly followed by his officers. But as he never visits his provinces, and as the communication with them is very precarious, the governors are very independent, the office of some of them having even become hereditary. The Sultan himself is said to be able to collect a force of ten thousand horse. The name of the present Gedado is Abdu. Among the governors, who equally adopt the title of Sultan. 

1. The Governor of Kano has the greatest power, on account of the market, which enables him to send ten thousand cowries daily to Sokoto for the household of the Sultan. The name of the present Sultan of Kano is Othman ben Ibrahim Dabo, but his brother, the Galadima, has in fact greater influence and power, so that in reality there are at present two Governors, each of whom requires a considerable present. The Governor, who is said to have formerly had a force of 10,000 horse, is now not able to collect more than 7000. 

2. The second, as regards real power, after the Governor of Kano, is, as I am informed, Ibrahim ben Yakuba, the Governor of Bauchi, or Bautshi, who has his residence at Yakoba; for although he has a force of only 2000 horse, his troops of archers, the best known in Sudan, are numberless. 

3. The third rank belongs to the Governor of Zegzeg, Mohammed Sani, who resides at Zaria. He has about 3000 horse, and numbers of archers. Zegzeg is a province of great extent. 

4. Loul, the Governor of the extensive province of Adamawa comes next, who has his residence at Yola. Besides a large army of archers, he has a force of 2000 horse. 

5. The next in power is Ahmmedu, the Governor of Hadejha, who has a force of ahout 2000 horse. 

6. Next to him is Mohammed Bello ben Mallem Oumaro, the Governor of Katshina, with a force of not much more than 1000 horse. Katshina, on account of its vicinity to the hostile countries of Maradih and Gober, has greatly declined.

 7. Rather more powerful is Abder Rahman, the Sultan of Katagum, who is said to bring 1500 horses into the field. 

8. Next to him in power may be considered Yerima Ahmedu, the Governor of Messau, who is said to have 1000 horse at his command. 

9. Then follows Harder Lareima, the blind old Governor of Marma, who resides at Naenawa; his former residence, Birnin-Gorno, having been destroyed by the Bornuese. He is said to have about 700 horses. 

10. The tenth rank seems to be occupied by Ismaela, the Governor of Shera, brother of Abder Rahman 'of Katagum, with not more than 500 horse. 

11. Then follows Koiranga, the Governor of Boberu, having his residence at the place of the same name, with about 100 horse. 

The 12th, and last of all, is the free booting Governor of the ruined province of Daura, a man bearing the same name as the Governor of Katshina, Mohammed Bello, who, though he has but 400 horse, is feared by all his neighbours.

 Besides these twelve Governors, who receive their orders directly from Sokoto, there is the Governor of Zamfara, named Ahmedu, who, as the cousin of the Sultan, enjoys almost the same rights as the above-mentioned persons. He resides at Bakura, and is in command of a force of 300 to 4000 horse. 

In addition to the foregoing, there are still two important provinces belonging to the Fullanis, Nuffe and Alyori, as Yauri is commonly called; but they do not, like the others, pay tribute to the Sultan of Sokoto, but to Khalil, the Sultan of Gondu, and grandson of the conqueror Othman dan Fodi by his son Abdallahi. 

The present Governor of Alyori is named Thita. He resides at Afasa, and is able to bring into the field 5000 horse. The name of the present Sultan of Nuffe is Masaba, who resides at Ladi, the present capital; Raba having been destroyed by the Fullanis about five years ago, when it rebelled against them. The Governor of Nuffe has about 2000 horse.

The court at Sokoto consists of nine persons. The next person after the Sultan, or Governor serki, is the Galadima, his first minister, and the natural Vice- Governor, a person sometimes of greater authority than the Governor himself. Next follow the Serkin dawokki, who has the command of all the horse in Kano; the Barden-Kano, the chief or general who leads the army ; the Al-Kalli or principal judge; the Chiroman Kano, who exercises the power in the southern part of the province; the Serkin-baye, who has the northern part of the province under his authority; the Gado or minister of the treasurer; and finally, the Serkin-Shano, literally the master of the oxen; the oxen as the principal carriers of luggage in Sudan being an important part of a court or army in this country. When the Sultan leaves the place for any length of time, accompanied by his first minister and his captains, the Gado and the serkin-Shano have the authority. 

I now proceed to give a short account. of the quarters and the gates of' the town of Kano, which Clapperton, though he made such a long stay here, has not, as far as I am aware, made known. In enumerating the different quarters of the town, I shall begin from the mountain named Dala the most characteristic feature of the town. At the southern foot of which the houses commence, stretching down towards the S. with very irregular outskirts. From this point I shall proceed eastwards, returning afterwards to the W., and so on. In this order the names of the quarters are as follows:
Dalla, Kutumbawa, Gerke, Madabo, Yantandu, Adakawa, Koki Seta, Limanchi. Then turning S. to W., Yandoyea, Jibjin, Yellabu, another Limanchi with a large mosque, Masukiani, Tuddum-Makera, Yamrotshe, Mararaba bokoi, Bakin-rua, Runfawa, Yellua. Next, turning again towards the E., Rimingirajire, Maggoga, Maggogi, Unguankare Dendalin-Ware, another Limanchi, Dukkarana, Riiffogi, Derma. 

All these quarters are principally, if not exclusively, inhabited by the Habe, and they all lie to the N. of the Jakara, the ill-famed waterpool which separates the southern half of the town from the northern; while the following quarters are almost exclusively inhabited by Fullanis- Yaaleria, Mariri, Agadesawa, Yola (the madakin Kano), El Kantara, Uaitaka, Sheriffe-Dodo, Tokobei, Dukkawa, Saghidarnse, Shafushi; then, returning from E. to W., Sherbale, Madabo, Kurna, Sheshe, Dirimin Kai-kai Rejiyan-lemu, Kualli, Al Fendeki, Sorandinki, Rimi-n- Kira, Toji (where the palace of the Governor is), Yakasai, Mandauari, another Marmara with the surname of Danturku, Sabansara, Kudedefawa, Jingo, Disoe, Warure, Gwale, Kurmawa, Hawsawa, Ungua Makama, Galadancshi, Shahuchi (where the elder son of the Governor, or the Chiroma, lives), Yerserki. Kurmawa, Kusserua, Udelawa (lying S. of the palace), Rimin kira, Karaka, Dugarawa, Yeakase, Nasserawa, Abdelawa.

 The importance of these ditferent quarters of Kano is the greater as in some cases they are entirely separated from one another by the spacious places or the numerous quarries which interrupt the groups of houses. Of the whole character of the town, which is indeed quite picturesque and interesting on account of the number of palm and other trees waving over its surface, I will not say a word, but will merely mention the gates in the extensive town-wall, which, like that of Katshina and Zaria, leaves a very wide open space, in some directions two miles in extent, round the town. The names of the gates, going from N. to W. and round from S. to E., are as follows : —Kofa Mazugerl, Kofan-rua, leading to Zinder, Kofan adama, Kofan gudan leading to Katshina, Kofan Kansakkeli on the direct road to Sokoto, Kofan Kaboga, Kofan-dukawia on the road to Zaria, Kofan gadan Kaiya, Kofan Kura leading to Katah, Kofa dan agundi, Kofan nassarawa, Kofa Wanbai on the direct road to Borno, and Kofa mata. These gates are shut every night and opened every morning; while the gate called Tawaieu Kofa (the gate of the enemies) is walled up, because, as they say, a prince, who left the town by that gate, died, but, as the name seems to indicate, because the enemy the Fullanis—made their entrance by it.

Dukkan godiya ta tabbata ga Allah Mad'aukakin Sarki, mai kowa mai komai, da ya bamu ikon taruwa a yau domin gudanar da wannan gagarumin aiki na alheri. Tsira da amincin Allah su tabbata ga manzon tsira Annabi Muhammad (SAW), fiyayyen halitta kuma mafificin masu tsabta da inganta muhalli.

Daga farko, zan fara da godiya maras adadi ga shugabannin wannan gamayya ta matasa domin tsabtacewa da kuma inganta garin Hadeja da suka bani wannan muhimmiyar dama har kashi biyu.

Ta farko ita ce kasancewa babban mai gabatar da jawabi a matsayina na d'an uwansu matashi - Dr Nura. Domin a ba mutum damar yin magana gaban irin wannan gangami, musamman idan a ka yi la'akari da irin mutanen da aka tara a wannan wuri, to ba k'aramar dama ba ce da kuma girmamawa.

Maudu'in da a ka ce na yi magana a kansa shine 'Muhimmancin Aikin Sa kai a Tsakanin Al'umma Domin Inganta Muhalli'.
Dama ta biyu kuwa ita ce, ta alfarmar da aka yi wa Gidauniyar da na k'irk'ra, wato Gidauniyar Unik Impact (ko Unik Impact Foundation a turance) ta yin tarayya a wannan aikin alheri da suka assasa ta hanyar ba da gudunmuwar d'aruruwan irin mad'aci da kuma mangwaro na zamani. Babban abin godiya ne a ba ka damar shiga cikin wani aikin alheri na al'umma.

Shuka bishiya abu ne mai matuk'ar muhimmanci a garemu ba wai kawai ta fuskar kariya da inganta muhalli ba, a'a, har ma ta fuskar addininmu, tattalin arzik'inmu, da kuma walwalarmu.

Tun farko, shi dai addinin musulunci, a matsayinsa na tsarin wayewa na gabadayan rayuwa, ya yi tanadin tsare-tsare da ka iya magance matsaloli na muhalli da ke yi wa d'an adam barazana a wannan lokaci. A bisa tarbiyya irin ta addinin musulunci, wasu magabatan na kallon cewa hatta shi kansa muhallin wani nau'ine na amana da Allah (SWT) ya mallaka a hannun bayinSa. Akwai ayoyi da dama na Alkura'ani mai tsarki da su ke tsawatarwa ga mumunai akan almubazzaranci, yad'a 6arna da kuma fasadi a bayan k'asa. Lalatawa da kuma wofintar da muhalli, tamkar wani nau'ine na almabozaranci da kuma 6arna a bayan k'asa.

Saboda matukar muhimmancin da addinin musulunci ya dora kan amfanin itatuwa a muhallin dan Adam shi ya sa ma ya yi hani da sare bishiyoyi da sauran nau'in shuke- shuke ba tare da wani kwakkwaran daliliba.

Manzon Allah Muhammad tsira da amincin Allah su tabbata a gareshi, ya kwadaitar a cikin ingattattun hadisansa akan falala da kuma fa'idar inganta muhalli, da daraja shi, da kare shi ta hanyar shuka bishiyoyi. D'aya daga cikin hadisan shine wanda mazon ya ke cewa; "ita duniyar nan koriya ce shar k'yak'yk'yawa, kuma Allah (SWT) ya dank'a muku ita a matsayin amana".

Ko da a yanayi irin na yak'i, Manzon tsira ya kan gargadi kwamandojin rundunonin musulmi da su guji sare bishiyoyi da kuma amfanin gona na abokan gaba. Ma'aikin dai ya kasance a lokacin rayuwarsa yana bada muhimmanci da karfafa guiwa kan amafani da k'asa mai d'orewa.
