USMAN HARUNA MALAMIYO (Part One)
Usman Haruna Malamiyo, born on the 6h June, 1968 in Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State is a distinguished son of Hadejia royal family and a proud custodian of the values, heritage, and dignity of his people. Raised in an environment shaped by discipline, respect, and community service, he has caried these principles in to every aspect of his life and Career.
He pursued his early education with exceptional commitment in Islamic studies as a tradition in Northern Nigeria, and vigorously Started a career in western education where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in general Agriculture from University of Sokoto (Usmanu Dan Fodio University) in 1991, followed by a Master's degree in Environmental Management from Bayero University Kano in 2008. His strong academic foundation laid the ground work tor a remarkable professional journey dedicated to public service and environmental stewardship.
Profesionaly, Usman Malamiyo after the mondotory ational Youth Service program, started his career at the defunct Anisiry of Federal Capital Territory (now Federal Capital Territory Administration) in 1994 where he served diigently as a civil servant and built a reputation of integrity, competence and exemplary leadership. Through hard work and unwavering commitment, he rose to the esteemed rank of Director contributing significantly to institutional growth, policy development and the advancement of public welfare.
Furthermore. Usman Haruna Malamiyo was seconded to the United Nations Environmental Program (GEF assisted integrated ecosystem management project in the Transboundary Areas between Nigeria and Niger Republic from 2006-2011). He is an expert in Climate Smart Agriculture and sustainable Environmental Management.
He attended various courses and workshop within and outside Nigeria. He is a member of various professional bodies in Nigeria.
Beyond professional pursuits, Usman Haruna Malamiyo had a stint in politics, where he contested for membership of House of Representatives, representing Hadejia, Auyo, Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency in 2011 and 2019. This was a result of clarion calls by the people of his constituency to join partisan politics due to his contributions to community development. youth empowerment and cultural preservation.
As a member of the Hadejia royal family, he has consistently demonstrated loyalty to the throne, support for communlty initiative and dedication to preserving cultural values. His life reflects a harmonious blend of tradition, modern knowledge, and service to humanity.
On saturday 25/12/2025, is set to be turbaned as the Barde kerariya (Disrict Head of Duma Dumi Toka) of Hadejia, this honor stand as a recognition of his contribution and long-standing commitment to the progress of his community. The title earmarked for the members of the royal family, affrms his role as a pillar of strength, a symbol of courage ond a custodian of the noble legacy of Hadejia.
